23–28 March 2027. Awaken the energy that is waiting in you. Come home with more energy, a calmer mind and a clear direction. Experience transformative kundalini activations and breathwork by the turquoise sea of Zanzibar. This is truly a paradise for your soul.
What if there is more within you than you have ever allowed yourself to experience?
There are moments in life when thinking, analysing and searching for answers simply takes you no further. Somewhere beneath the noise of everyday life, you may sense that there is more in you than you have been living: more energy, more clarity, more trust in your own direction.
Perhaps you have been carrying questions you cannot quite put into words, or perhaps you simply feel ready for something to shift. You do not need to know exactly what you are looking for, and you do not need the answers before you arrive.
Away from everything familiar, you give yourself the chance to let go of what you have been carrying and reconnect with what is already within you. What you take home is something you feel in your body, not just understand: more energy available to you, a quieter mind, and a clearer sense of what you want to do with your life.

Kundalini is your own life force. It moves upward through the body, carrying what is trying to reach you: feelings, intuition, insight and creativity. Over time, many of these signals get brushed off as “just a thought” or “just a whim”, and the flow slows down. What is not felt stays in the body.
Kundalini activation and breathwork allow the body to lead before the head. Your energy wakes up at your own pace, and what has been held back begins to move. Feelings that were pushed aside can finally be felt. Intuition and creativity find their way back into your awareness. During an activation you may experience hints of the energy moving through the body, but the real change happens on the inside.
Your life force has its own intelligence. If your mind races, you may leave calmer. If you have been running low, you may leave with more energy. It restores what is out of balance, and helps you see the difference between what you do out of fear and what is truly yours.

Up to 18 participants · three facilitators

The day opens with a good breakfast, then gentle movement — yoga and stretching — before the morning session: kundalini activation, breathwork or both.
Lunch follows, and then the afternoon is open. Time by the pool, in the sun, letting the session settle. Individual sessions are available for those who want to go further.
In the evening we eat together, and the day closes with a gathering.
The week is deliberately not full. Integration happens in the hours between the sessions, so those hours are part of the programme too.

Individual sessions — Reiki, Reading, Restorative Flow, Heart Opening — are offered in the afternoon block and are booked separately, not included in the price.
Hidden in lush tropical gardens on the quiet south east coast, Zen Boutique is a small retreat built by hand from local materials by Zanzibari craftsmen. For this week it is entirely ours — no other guests, just us, the palms and the sound of birds. Sarah and Ty created it for exactly this kind of work, and they look forward to welcoming you.
Twelve private bungalows sit around the gardens and the pool, each with a king-size bed and an open-air bathroom where you shower under the sky. Spend the afternoons in the 20-metre pool or by the firepit, and watch the sun go down from the rooftop lounge — said to have the best sunsets on the south east coast.
A ten-minute walk through the village takes you to Jambiani Beach: white sand, and the warm, turquoise Indian Ocean.

A fusion of European and African cooking, made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant, Burnt Orange, has a good reputation on the island, and after a morning session that matters more than you would think.
Evenings end on the rooftop terrace, with the sky turning gold over the treetops.
The food is pescetarian, with a good vegetarian option at every meal. Tell us about any allergies when you enrol and we will take them into account.
Day four is our free day. After a morning breathwork session, the rest of the day is yours to explore.
We suggest setting sail together — turquoise water, sandbanks and open sky. If something else calls you, such as Stone Town, a spice farm or simply a day on the beach, that can be arranged too. We plan it together on site, and excursions are paid for there, separately from the retreat.

Booked with us during the week and held in the afternoon block. Not included in the retreat price, and nothing you need to decide in advance — many people book after the second day, when they can feel what they want more of.

Reiki works particularly well on pain and tension. It works with the body’s energy system rather than the muscles, and most people describe it as deeply relaxing — a session where stress drops out of the body and nothing is asked of you. It sits well after a morning activation, when the system is already open.

Intuitive, channeled guidance that can give you clarity, new perspectives, and deeper self-insight on your path. Hawa receives images, feelings and messages during the reading. Some make sense immediately; others reveal their meaning later.

A somatic practice combining sound, movement and mindful touch to help you slow down, reconnect with your body and support nervous system regulation. Each session is shaped around you and where you are in that moment — at your pace, with space for whatever needs attention, movement or rest.

A quieter, more focused activation working with the upper chakras. For many it brings a softening in an area that has been held shut for a long time. It can be emotional, and it is held slowly — with intention.

A practical session: you get your own pendulum, learn how to work with it to get answers and to open chakras, and practise until it feels like yours. Something concrete to take home from the week.

Through energy work like kundalini activation, Reiki and tantric bodywork, Terje holds space for deep release and reconnection — physically, emotionally and energetically. His approach is grounded, intuitive and rooted in presence, giving the body room to let go of what it has been carrying and find its own way back to flow. He runs Henden Energy Work in Norway, with retreats and sessions through the year. Certified kundalini activation facilitator through KCA.
Find purpose, peace and joy — we are not here to suffer.

For Hawa, breathwork is about moving beyond the thinking mind and reconnecting with something deeper within yourself. Through carefully selected music, connected breathing and words written for each journey, she creates an experience that lets you slowly drop beneath the surface — where the breath meets the body, and the body remembers what the mind has forgotten.
Every session is different, and every person is given space to meet whatever is ready to unfold.
Listening beyond the noise. Trusting what you feel. Allowing yourself to go deeper.

Joana is an embodiment and energy-work facilitator exploring the connection between body, energy, emotion and inner awareness. Her path weaves together kundalini activation, restorative and somatic practices, meditation, sound and intuitive movement. She creates spaces that invite you to slow down, feel and reconnect with what is already present within — letting each experience unfold at its own pace. Certified kundalini activation facilitator through KCA.
The three of us work together as a collective called Rising Life Force. We have held hundreds of sessions and several retreats, and we have learned that the work goes deeper when more than one pair of hands is holding the room.
Life force is the energy and aliveness you were born with. Stress and old tension can hold it back. At Rising Life Force, we help people rise to their full potential.
We work with love, and we are led by our hearts rather than by a fixed method. That is why the retreat is built the way it is: three facilitators, different doors into the same work.
Sessions, meals and evenings from retreats we have had in Norway in recent years. Zanzibar will look different — the work will not.
Lise Mette speaks about her retreat with Rising Life Force.
A private bungalow shared with one other participant, two single beds. Garden or poolside view, private terrace, air conditioning and a tropical outdoor bathroom.
The same bungalow, just for you.
West-facing, for the sunsets. A larger suite with a sofa and a small sitting area, private terrace and a tropical outdoor bathroom. More room to land after the sessions. Can be shared or private.
No. Several participants come to their first activation on a retreat like this. Everything is explained before we begin, and you can stop, sit up or leave a session at any point.
In a kundalini activation you lie on a mat, music plays, and the facilitator works around you, sometimes with light touch. After a while the energy begins to move. Some move with it, others lie completely still — both are as they should be. Breathwork is structured breathing that stirs things up rather than settles them down. Everything moves at the pace your system allows. You can stop, sit out or lie down at any point, and nothing is asked of you afterwards.
No. Kundalini yoga is a practice you perform — postures, breath sequences, chanting, repeated over time. A kundalini activation asks nothing of you: you lie down and receive, and your own energy does what it needs to do. The name is shared because both work with the same life force, but the way in is the opposite.
No. It is your own energy moving, and it moves at the pace your system allows — it does not hand you more than you can hold. Some people shake, cry, laugh or feel heat; others lie still. Both are normal, and it passes. What it is not is a treatment: if you live with a serious heart condition, epilepsy, psychosis or another psychiatric diagnosis, or you are pregnant, write to us first so we can talk it through before you book.
Only if you want to. The sharing circles are open and voluntary, and plenty of people listen without saying anything.
Most people come alone. The group is small, you eat together, and by the second day it does not feel like a room of strangers.
Write to us before you book and tell us what it is. We are not medical practitioners and this is not a treatment for any condition, so the honest answer is often a gentler variant of the sessions — or waiting for another time. We will find out together.
Yes. Note it when you enrol and we will place you together. If you book the shared rate without a partner, we match you with another participant of the same gender.
Fly to Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ). From there it is about 1 hour 20 minutes by car to Zen Boutique. Send us your flight times and we will book a taxi for you.
Most nationalities need an entry visa. It costs approx. $50 and can be bought online in advance at visa.immigration.go.tz, or on arrival at the airport. Zanzibar also requires a health insurance for all visitors, approx. $44, which must be bought online in advance from Zanzibar Insurance Corporation at zic.co.tz. We also strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation.
Usually warm and sunny, with warm sea to swim in. We cannot promise there will not be the odd rain shower now and then — but they tend to pass quickly, and they are warm.
Many do, and it works well — the retreat sits neatly at the start or end of a longer trip. Any travel outside 23–28 March is your own arrangement, though we are glad to point you in a useful direction.
English, throughout. The facilitators also understand Norwegian (Hawa and Terje) and Portuguese (Joana).

Booking is not open yet. These terms will apply once it opens. Please read them before you pay — they are part of the agreement, and they are here on the page rather than only in an email afterwards.
A deposit of €500 confirms your place. The remaining amount is due no later than 23 January 2027, eight weeks before the retreat.
Prices are given in EUR. Your card provider applies its own exchange rate on the day of payment, and international cards may carry a somewhat higher transaction fee.
Cancelling before 23 January 2027: the deposit is non-refundable, but any amount paid beyond it is refunded in full.
Cancelling between 23 January and 20 February 2027: 50% of the total price is refunded.
Cancelling after 20 February 2027: the price is non-refundable, as the accommodation and facilitators are committed by then. You may transfer your place to another person — tell us the name in good time.
Should we have to cancel the retreat, everything you have paid, including the deposit, is refunded in full. We are not able to cover flights or other travel costs, which is why travel insurance is strongly recommended.
Mandatory Zanzibar health insurance (approx. $44) must be purchased in advance and is your own responsibility, as is travel insurance. Participation is voluntary and at your own responsibility; the sessions are not medical treatment and do not replace healthcare.
