Terje giving kundalini activation to a participant lying down

Kundalini Activation

A safe and grounded path to deeper contact with your own life force.

What is kundalini activation?

Kundalini activation is a process where life energy is activated to flow more freely through the body, releasing tension and blockages. For many, this is experienced as increased contact with oneself, more peace, and a clearer sense of presence.

During a kundalini activation, you lie on your back with your eyes closed. I use simple tools to support the body in opening up to its own life force – the kundalini energy – and to provide space for emotions that have been held back.

Tools: Intention, touch and music

Many people think kundalini activation is about technique. In reality, it's more about how the space is held.

  • Intention. A clear, pure intention sets the direction for the work. It keeps the space and the process focused on what wants to move.
  • Touch. Conscious, light touch can help the body open areas where energy has become stuck, and support the flow through the system.
  • Music. Music is used as an important support through the process, and helps the nervous system go deeper.

My Approach

My way of working with kundalini activation is calm and grounded. This is not magic, but a power that lies in all of us. In my work, I put safety first.

The goal is not to force strong movements or intense experiences, but to let the body do what it is ready for, at its own pace. This page gives you a concrete explanation of what kundalini activation is, how I work, and what you can realistically expect.

The Experience of Energy

The energy often begins to move by itself. You may experience twitches, spontaneous movement, emotions that come and go, heat, vibrations, inner images - but you can also experience deep silence. There is no right or wrong.

Free-flowing life energy can lead to:

  • Increased contact with body and intuition
  • Emotional release and clarity
  • Greater self-acceptance and presence
  • Release of old patterns and blockages

Why kundalini activation?

Open to Emotions

Some want to open up to emotions and release what has been suppressed and stuck over time. This can be about everything from old emotional patterns to layers of experiences that the body still carries.

Expand Consciousness

Some want to expand their consciousness and intuition. For some, it's described as a spiritual awakening. For others, it's more about becoming clearer within themselves and having a stronger presence in the body.

Become More Yourself

It's about letting go of layers of adaptation and patterns that no longer feel real. When there's more flow in the body, it often becomes clearer what is actually yours – and what you've taken on.

Contact with Life Energy

For many, it's experienced as increased vitality and more presence. An easier contact with the body, and with what's actually happening in the moment. Creative and erotic energy can also become more accessible.

Kundalini

What is Kundalini?

Kundalini is a powerful life energy that lies latent in the body and can be awakened for increased consciousness, vitality, and transformation.

  • Kundalini is often described as a sleeping energy at the base of the spine (root chakra).
  • Breath, meditation, movement, sound, and direct kundalini activation can awaken this energy.
  • When Kundalini is activated, it can lead to increased consciousness, emotional release, and spiritual development.

Quotes from participants

"Thank you for a beautiful activation. I had a wonderful experience and felt energies both from your movements, touches, and sounds. As well as my inner processes that continue to work on releasing old patterns and conceptions, integrating more authentic light and energy from the soul."
"I am very grateful, because I have come out of the 'bubble' 💚 I'm going to get back on my path now 🙌 I had just lost my way a bit, but you helped me there 😊 So again, thank you so much 🫶"

Common questions about kundalini activation

What is kundalini activation?
Kundalini activation is a practice where you lie on a mat with your eyes closed while we work with intention, music and touch, and your own life energy gets to move more freely in the body. You don't have to do anything yourself. The energy isn't added from the outside — it's already there, and the work is about releasing what's in its way, not about achieving something specific.
What's the difference between kundalini activation and kundalini yoga?
Kundalini yoga is an active practice where you do exercises, breathing techniques and movements yourself, following instruction. In kundalini activation you do nothing — you lie still, and it's the body and nervous system that lead, not the will. They share a name and the same underlying life energy, but the way in is the opposite: one goes through effort, the other through letting go.
Is kundalini activation dangerous?
No, kundalini activation is your own energy moving, and it moves at whatever pace your system allows — you won't get more than you can hold. Some shake, cry or laugh, some feel warmth, and some lie completely still. All of this is normal, and it passes. That said, the practice is not treatment, and it isn't right for everyone — see the section below on who we ask to get in touch first.
Who shouldn't do kundalini activation?
Kundalini activation isn't right for everyone. Please get in touch with us before signing up if you live with a serious heart condition, epilepsy, psychosis or another psychiatric diagnosis. Then we'll talk it through first, and there's often a gentler variant available. We recommend pregnant people wait — not because it's dangerous, but because we prefer to be cautious. We are not healthcare professionals and cannot assess your health.
What happens in the body during a session?
During a kundalini activation, the nervous system enters a state similar to deep meditation or hypnosis, one you can't reach through will alone. There, the body can release tension and patterns it has held onto for a long time. Some start moving without deciding to, some feel warmth, vibrations or emotions surfacing, and some lie completely still. All of this is exactly as it should be.
How long does a session last?
A kundalini activation session lasts about an hour and a half, including introduction and a short debrief afterwards. It's good to set aside a bit of time after the session to land before moving on. We hold sessions in Tønsberg and Oslo, both as group sessions and individual sessions, and sign-up for group sessions happens via the booking system.
What if I don't feel anything?
Not feeling anything in particular during a kundalini activation is more common than you'd think, and it doesn't mean it isn't working. For some, the experience is big and obvious right away; for others it's quieter — but it does something regardless, and many notice it most clearly in the days afterwards. There's no fixed template for what a session should look like, and nothing you need to perform.
Do I need experience with yoga or meditation?
No, kundalini activation requires no prior knowledge, and you don't need any relationship to kundalini to attend. Many come to their first session without having done anything similar before. The only thing required is that you're willing to lie down and let what happens happen, at your own pace.
Is kundalini spiritual or religious?
No, activating kundalini energy requires no belief, affiliation or worldview, and you don't need to agree with any explanatory model to take part. You don't even need to believe kundalini energy exists at all. It's enough that you feel safe, and are willing to surrender to the experience. Then you'll benefit from the session regardless of your starting point.
Can I cry or have strong emotions?
Yes, crying and strong emotions are common in an activation, and it's not a bad sign. It usually just means something was ready to release. For some it comes out as grief, for others as laughter or anger — but it's the body letting go of something it has carried for a while. You're awake throughout and can sit up or leave the room at any time. Feeling a bit nervous beforehand is, incidentally, the most common starting point.
How often should I come?
There's no recommended frequency for kundalini activation — what matters most is that you get time to land and integrate between sessions, and none of this should be pushed. Some come once out of curiosity, others attend regularly over time because they notice something shifting in between. We hold group sessions weekly, so you can come whenever it feels right — you set the pace yourself.
Are a kundalini awakening and a kundalini activation the same thing?
No, a kundalini awakening and a kundalini activation are two different things. Awakening is often used for a spontaneous and far-reaching process that can unfold over a long time, and that some experience without having sought it out. Kundalini activation is something else: a contained session in a safe setting, where you get what your body is ready for right there and then.
What should I do before and after a session?
Before a kundalini activation it's good to eat lightly that day, ideally at least one to two hours before we begin, and avoid heavy food, alcohol and caffeine. Wear clothes you can move in, and arrive about ten minutes early so you have time to land. Afterwards, it's good to set aside a bit of time to land and integrate the experience — many notice it most clearly over the following days.
